Acceptable use for Software from the CNST MSDNAA Site

The software from this site is ONLY for use by Faculty and Students of the Computer Networking and Security Technology Department at Texas State Technical College - Harlingen

The software from the MSDNAA Site is to be used for instructional/research but not for Infrastructure. This does not translate to mean that it can be used for academics or the support of academics on campus. Below I have grouped together some examples of use and indicated if it is acceptable or not.

Staff Use on their Departmental Office Computers just as an operating system or for just clerical or infrastructure use

FACULTY USE  
Faculty use on their home computers Yes
Faculty Use on Departmental Office Computers being used for Instructional or Research Purposes

Faculty use on their Departmental Office Computers for just clerical or infrastructure use No
Use on Faculty machines in remote locations No
     
LAB/RESEARCH – OS, Applications and Development Tools
Use in Departmental Classrooms/Labs

Use in CNST public Labs/Classrooms Yes
     
LAB/RESEARCH – Server Products
Use on Servers that support Classrooms or Departmental Labs that teach Microsoft Products or are used to do research with Microsoft Products Yes
Use on Servers that support Classrooms or Departmental Labs that DO NOT teach Microsoft Products or are NOT used to do research with Microsoft Products Yes But NO if server is soley for infrastructure – must be used for instruction or research.
